Stephen G. Struble, M.D. is a native of Ohio and attended Duke University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles Medical School.
Post-graduate training includes both a General Surgical Internship and four-year General Orthopaedic Residency also at UCLA. During his training, Dr. Struble conducted research, co-authored several publications in various orthopaedic journals, and made a presentation at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Conference.
Most recently, Dr. Struble completed an additional year of fellowship focusing on hip and knee reconstruction in Charlotte, North Carolina, under half a dozen of renowned surgeons at Presbyterian Hospital. He is trained and certified in the newest procedures for partial knee replacement as well as computer-assisted knee replacement.
As part of the Joint Replacement Center at Advanced Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Struble specializes in treating arthritis of the hips and knees. Options available range from those non-surgical (medication and intra-articular injection) to surgical (partial or complete joint replacement). The newest bearing surfaces and “optimally invasive” surgical techniques are utilized. He also performs revisions of failed replacements.
Dr. Struble is actively involved in both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society. He is also a member of the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
