The Joint Replacement Center
Dr. Worland, an associate clinical professor at the Medical College of Virgina, specializes in the treatment, reconstruction, and total replacement of damaged knee and shoulder joints. A founding member of the America Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the North American Arthroscopy Association, he has been in private practice in Richmond for over twenty years. Since late 1986, together with his partner, Dr. Douglas E. Jessup, he has performed over 4,000 total joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Worland is the surgeon designer of the Bi-Angular total shoulder system, the Bipolar shoulder replacement system, and the AGC Revision Total Knee replacement system, all of which are used worldwide (as well as numerous surgical instruments).
Dr. Worland is very active nationally and internationally in research and teaching techniques in total joint replacement.

Dr. Jessup specializes in the treatment, reconstruction, and total joint replacement of damaged hips and knees. He and his surgical partner, Dr. Richard Worland, have performed over 6,000 total joint replacement procedures.
Dr. Jessup is actively involved in the clinical research and long-term evaluation of surgical technique outcomes. Dr. Jessup consults on the design, manufacturing and instrumentation of knee and hip implants, as well as serving as an investigator for FDA evaluations of new technology used in the treatment of arthritic joints.
